Team High Population

For those of you who are not on Team Old and Team Fresh, why do you want to play on a high population server?

What made Nost special? Purples? Level 60 Characters? The players? Stable server? High population? The community?

May the highest population server win!

More population, for me, means higher immersion, since the world feels alive and I can get lost within all the interactions and general sense of things happening left and right.

more players means more competition, which necessitates in people trying to work together - the core component of an MMO.

I like the fact that when im cruising around in any zone, i see people questing, fighting, gathering, etc. Compared to retail: You can discover the whole map without seeing one person. That's why I love high pop :) Oh trying to hide from gankers when you're leveling alts in STV is something I'll always remember

Because I don't like playing single player WoW.

 

Nost's insane population made every single zone feel alive. Made it super easy to find groups for every single dungeon at every level. Made a booming economy. etc.

 

Vanilla wow is highly dependent on having a good population. Doesn't matter how good scripted your server is, if the population is фекал, it's going to be frustrating and boring to play.

The world was alive. There were people in every zone, and sure there were a lot of 60s, but there were tons of people leveling. To be honest I prefer a wide mix of levels than everyone being clustered together. There were people leveling at the same pace as me that I would see zone after zone, and the chats were always going so you it reinforced the idea of community.

I heard the quality of the project was great, most things work, scripting better than other projects. Also, there are no reward items of any kind. There may be other WoW Vanilla projects out there that are just as good or better, don't know!

A high pop results in a breathing world, makes world pvp more exciting, and offers more niches so that any player may find his spot.

A world that feels alive. Items that can be used from multiple raid tiers that don't just "get replaced" by the next instance. Gold matters. Character investment matters. Being a part of a raid feels like being a cog in a giant machine. Multiple avenues of farm eg; gold, consumables, buffs, rep, honor. Non homoginised characters, each class is its own! Let's face it, Nost just encompases all of this. So it wins.

What I absolutely cannot wait on is high pop guild pvp on the Isle of Dread for chop materials!

High population ensure a target rich environment.

High population is pretty much what made nostalrius unique compared to other classic projects. However, anything beyond 5k people online will pretty much allow you to do anything at all times, all BG's, daily pugs, plenty of guilds and so on. Considering that the biggest vanilla servers had like 2.5k people online. Im quite sure either server will have more than 10k players online. I wouldnt mind the new server being three times as big as the old one aslong as the old one stays in the 10-12k range. Back when there were 15k peak on nostalrius, it really wasnt funny anymore at times.

Imagine having to stand on top of 3 other players when afk'ing in capital cities... You couldnt even properly brag with your epics anymore, as people would only see a quarter of your toon.

I played on both servers up to 60.

 

Neither had low population. Both were higher population than most retail servers were. And it's bound to even be higher now with all the shutdown/startup hype. All the servers are going to be healthy, if not over populated. We are all on team high population!

After messing around on some of the kronos servers and seeing how dead they are (at least during my playtimes), i absolutely can't wait to join a highly populated vanilla server.   Pretty much for the reasons everyone has just stated.  (I'll be new to Nost/Elys once servers go up)

Its an MMO. I don't really feel the need to explain why I want to see/join other people in the world.

 

I could play the Witcher or Skyrim or something if I didn't care about it.

After messing around on some of the kronos servers and seeing how dead they are (at least during my playtimes), i absolutely can't wait to join a highly populated vanilla server.   Pretty much for the reasons everyone has just stated.  (I'll be new to Nost/Elys once servers go up)

Yeah, Kronos is really dead these days. After Nost went down, their servers got flooded so they made a 2nd server, but now the population is so low that everyone is wanting the two servers to merge again.

 

With Nost relaunching three servers, I can't see Kronos having any decent population in the future. :P

Nost isn't relaunching three servers. Project Elysium is.
