Reality is, they send C&Ds to all the servers to protect their trademark. The thing about trademarks is that you can loose them if you cannot show a court that you are actively fighting for them. This is primarily why blizzard are sending out CnD letters. Nost chose to shut down and they chose to go the martyr route, in the hopes of getting blizzard to up their (legacy)game. Leaving it up to the community for Option 1 is just not realistic. The other option of people donating into a paypal account, and then you guys paying for the server is much more realistic. I suggest a front page tally/progress bar showing the current monthly goal for donations.
