Financial Report: Hardware Costs

Recommended Posts

Leaving it up to the community for Option 1 is just not realistic.

The other option of people donating into a paypal account, and then you guys paying for the server is much more realistic.

I suggest a front page tally/progress bar showing the current monthly goal for donations.

After a month of the server being up, I will be donating monthly through the paypal method.

Have donated, and will continue to do so through the paypal method going forward. Thanks for all your hard work.

Question: The progress bar on the donation page, does it show the progress of the "Web hosting" only? Or does it include game servers?

As the wise man i'm quoting says, the sum for the servers is too large for the average Joe to cover, so an option to contribute to a pool that you use to pay the game servers would be better.

Any overflow from the web hosting will go to fund the servers.

That would be good, I certainly can't donate to pay for a month of game server hosting but $15/month is definitely doable.

Donation/Charity should be done with your right hand as if the left hand does not know. Just for the sake of nostalgia. hope you dont go about asking Donation Title/Tabards in game. I hope you get my point :)

They simply have to pay for the hosting and the website.

They need our help. No conspiracy about it.

I absolutely agree with the people that have suggested a monthly goal donation meter on the front page of the website, It could even be styled like a level up bar for extra satisfaction points :P Merchandise is also a wonderful idea, put that lovely new logo on a top! :)

So i cant check it right now, can anyone say what are methods of their donation system? Credit card/paypal/webmoney ...?

A s far as I can see the Web host funding is supported by PayPal only At least I had no other options.

Paypal, which accepts credit/debit cards, and direct withdrawals from banks as well as any money you may have on your paypal account.

I tried to register using this link earlier in the week.  It does not let me register.  If you notice, there is no register button.  So I fill out a login, pw and email and click to verify I am not a robot and nothing happens.

- clear your browser's cache

- try hitting enter if there is no register button

I recomend you trying to zooming out in your browser. I had the same problem as you, using Chrome. CTRL+scrolling wheel.

In my case it might be due to that Im on a small laptop with 1366x768 resolution.

Thanks ALOT for the effort you put in in order to bring us a great gaming experience on Elysium. And thank you for keeping your hard work going eventhough you meet cynical and childish comments/opinions here on the forums. I'm somewhat ashamed on behalf of some in the community and can only hope that you brush it aside and keep focus on bringing the servers up.

Don't forget; 90% of our community are grateful and appreciate your Project loads.

I donated €30 yesterday and will keep supporting you on a monthly basis.

Admin with wow-circle in an interview said that the alleged nostalrius closed due to debt (problem with finances), and it had nothing to do with the fact that Blizzard required to close the server. It would be a shame if the fate of the new project will be the same as in the previous one, I propose to introduce in-game reminders several times a day, the server needs the support of the players, it is better so than to silently fold up shop under false pretenses.

Hopefully they make it really clear that they require donations or else the project will be closed before they have to pull the plug.  I'm new to private servers and nost/elysium stuff so I don't know if they did that before.  We can't expect the team to keep working on coding and servers, community support and issues and run the website plus pay for everything on their own.  Bottom line if people refuse to support the project and expect servers to be up 24/7 with good support and refuse to donate and give back for their entertainment then they'll inevitably have to close it all down and that would be a shame.

Well, since I actually know (first proof here, dig up the rest proofs from an old thread at nost forums, around 19 pages......--> http://kuvauppi.fi/view/output/GUID/44C79600-C920-C9E5-5621-614D7B5BF080/size/default/untitled.jpg) that Nost was payed till June 16, so why would it be plugged down due "debt" in april. Also, why would Blizz go through the PR stunt AND the bad reputation, when they coulda just say "Lol, it wasn't us peeps."

Please do not spread misinformation and baseless rumours. His claim is not true at all and evidence can still be found on Nostalrius forums as Stondus posted.
