Whats with the griefing posts?

Recommended Posts

I have seen a few posts over the last few days of people asking if x griefing is acceptable or is xx griefing allowed....

Do you guys actually just level up a character to grief other players? Is your life that bad and uninteresting that this will make you feel more fulfilled?

Just wondering

I knew the first response would be a dumbass one.

At no point have I said I wont stand for it and also it was structured as a "question"

But thanks for your dumb response anyway.

It's an old MMO argument. I don't care so much if people want to gank but I do prefer people do it around their own level. Unfortunately this isn't always the case and we get 60's just wiping out tons of lowbies who are leveling. Now this is Faction vs. Faction (horde vs alliance), so by doing this they are weakening the opposing faction. So this is completely valid. It is war after all.

I just know that if I'm going to gank people in a level 20-30 zone I will do it around level 28. I prefer to give people a fair chance to kill me and it's more fun if I have good competition. :)

Also, I salute others who do the same.

Dude.. come on, griefing is like one of THE most fun things in an online game XD

This should be evident to you already, if it's not, then I have to say that, either something is very wrong with you mentally, or you simply haven't matured enough to appreciate it :)

There is nothing more satisfying than to grief someone and then to receive /w messages where they first complain, then they wonder what is wrong with me and make all sorts of assumptions about me, and then they finally come with all sorts of threats of violence and death :D

God.. just writing this last part makes me tingle inside with excitement! :D

First let me just say that I absolutely love your avatar MadAxe.

Second, its a pvp server and vials of tears is an important resource so we have to do it. Its not even an option we cant survive with out the tears.

Oh but there is this other thing you might want to look into. Its called "Your own faction", people are always looking for a good fight so how about you ask someone for help

People do need to know the boundaries and that's good.  Should read the TOU.  and yeah some of that stuff is vague and for a reason:

-Intentionally killing or disabling important quest NPCs for an extended period of time;

I think at one point this may have said over the course of a day or something to that effect.  Which of course MUST mean it's totally cool to keep killing an important NPC for 23 hours straight.  : P

Rules on safespotting have changed over time to react to our populace.  Even spawn times have changed because of our populace's sometimes questionable activities.

Some people will never read the TOU and safespot from the rafters in STV and be "surprised" when they get a ban.

Bottom line, if yer all about trying to push the boundaries of d-baggery to greater levels, better read that TOU first and not act all ignorant about it later.  If a rule is vague, just assume worst case scenarios and you'll be fine.

Thx! ^ ^

And yepp griefing is in a way, one of the RPG elements of the game, especially in a game where you have 2 factions and especially on a PvP server.

It gives you a sense of danger, but also a sense of community.

Whats the point in being more powerful than other players if you aint gonna prove it?

I prefer to win via skill not gear advantage.. but then I'm not a noob :P :P :P

It's okay and fun to kill to occasional lower player every now and then.

But corpse camping/camping an area just to grief? That's not really fun for me and kinda cowardly.

Unless trying to provoke 60's from the enemy faction, but there are less time conusming options for that.

Then again I remeber grouping up with a bunch of 32-38 and killing a 60 ( pally)  that was hindering our questing in STV, good fun.

You son of a..  I was that lvl 60 Pally  :upset:

But I guess.. you.. you didn't have balls enough to face me like a man, 1 on 1..  I pity you..

Hahaha no, but see this is what is so great about griefing, it might give you some temporary annoyance and anger, but it can also lead you to friendships and great sense of victory! :)

Every now and then I'll roflstomp a low level to show em whose boss, then move on. I've never really enjoyed making people run more than once.

Most days I am ok with letting low lvl alliance go. But sometime I feel more like screaming, "Blood for the blood god" and killing them all for hours

I'm hardly against PvP, but I always play PvE now that I'm a bit older. I simply flag myself if I feel like PvP, and for some reason I am ganked more on a PvE server than on a PvP. PvE players get bored and see that yellow marker, and It's like throwing a goldfish in a piranha tank.  If I am being griefed I log out for a while until they get bored, go away, and log back in. Not a big deal. PvE server gives me a choice. /Shrug
