Advice to Elysium Devs on removal of gold spammers

Make a system where if more than 10 people ignore someone in less than 15 seconds they get a 48 hour account mute and there account is logged to be checked out alon with the names of the people who reported them.

 

This would allow the devs to quickly identify/disable hacked accounts to get them back in proper hands fast.  

 

If it turns out to be abuse and bullying by muting a specific player under false accusations, just suspend the people who abuse it for 24 hours.

 

Players who where targeted in a improper fashion should be able to use a command  [ .HALPME   ] once they are globally muted to flag themselves for assistance and review from a GM or dev, however you do it. 

 

Worst case scenario, people make new accounts to flag people by messing with them.  You can make it so if someone sent less than 5 messages a minute are exempt from it. 

 

I have experience in this, the method of banning phrases doesn't work.  They have a character base of 1000+ to mess with.

Yeah RuneScape bans phrases and it doesn't work, the spam just results in looking like alien talk though.

I would recommend making it so you can't talk on your account unless in party/normal chat, or whispering mutual friends until you have at least 1 level 20 on it, perhaps it's a bad idea if bots won't be caught before they reach level 20 or if you think it will affect new players too much.

It sounds like a better Idea than banning phrases. 

Phrases will help for short term but as you say, in the long run it will not be a proper solution.

It really pisses me off that these Goldsellers exist. 

Waisting so much time, so god damn annoying.

I think your method sounds pretty good. Also your solution for the case of it being abbused.

In the long run it sounds better and having someone to review these mute cases can be the same person that is just banning spammers right now.

So it sounds like the better idea imo

Was talking to a buddy of mine on ways of making gold. I may have used the words "Gold" and "Selling" in the same sentence. Got on again today after a nap to find out I was banned from talking in ANY chat channels. So yea dont use those words together. The system right now is dumb I dont know when it was implemented but you cant talk about gold at all apparently.

Never did I say the 2 words "Selling gold" together nore did I even joke about that. I was talking about ways of making gold to buy your epic mount. Hope this doesnt flag my acc or put a strike on it or some ****  I would hate to get banned over something like this. New forums are nice btw :D

Create a GM "Bot" account (or several, one each zone, one each faction)  and parses chat.  If it gets X pm's or see's X person spam them / general / trade / world chat Y times, it mutes for 48hrs  (or reasonable time frame to be reviewed by a human)  and flags the account.  

Once confirmed a gold seller the account and IP should be permabanned.  

It's exactly the same as hacks but far less complicated when it comes to handling.  It takes the same amount of time tho.  

They are already aware of Spam Throttle and modifying their spam ( splitting it up in to multiple pm's )  and i've seen spam being done via emotes in major cities near the AH / Banks.  

This problem will NEVER go away  - the only thing that constantly changes is how it's dealt with and how they change to continue the spam.

The suggestion of if x people ignore you is bad.  People will use this to harass other players to manually mute them.

It would be cool if there was just no assholes to buy thier gold, then there would be no market for these sellers.

It is a pity then that there are so many cancer infested retarded s.hit players here that give the gold sellers thier market.

Atleast I get some good laughs on Ban Appeals every now and then.

Well, allthough I am not sure how much effort they really put into it, even Blizzard can't handle gold spam. And so I am not sure if a relatively small team can manage that :-/

As long there are people using their services they always will develop a new way to spam around, no matter what the devs do.

So, if we get ganked by someone, we ask friends/guildies to make level ones and go on the other faction. /ignore 'x' and voilà. That is just dumb.
