You want to enjoy the ride, at the cost of everyone else. You buying gold puts the server at risk, because once real money is made it becomes more and more shady. It needs to stay non profit. You are breaking that rule.

I cant believe someone really just came out and not only admitted to buying gold, but tried to justify it. Jesus these kids and their entitlements. If you got caught on retail buying gold they banned you also... Just saying.

Of course it is too late already... But the admins should have predicted this.

If you think the staff should have predicted this, then what does that say about the people who chose to use the same exact credentials for both servers? Shouldn't they have predicted this also? 

The onus is on the account creator, not the server staff. People need to learn to accept the blame on this for employing horrible account security. Quit trying to shift blame to the staff of this server. They had nothing to do with the data leak, or your choice of account credentials.

Nothing was stolen? GTFO dude, the people behind Elysium isn't Blizzard Entertainment. It's the exact reason nostalrius was shut down. I don't see how someone buying gold effects your experience in game. Just because someone has more gold you get bent out of shape? Not everyone has the time to play 18 hours a day but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to enjoy the game the way they want to also.

Problem is, Elysium is pay to play too. There are tons of accounts for sale and tons of gold on the market. It's there, in game, easy to get. Point is, they can't stop it, nor should they. They stole the game, why not let players enjoy it the way they want?

something something if people buy gold then they will inflate the prices of consumables driving, let's say, black lotus beyond 50-60g/ea whereas something something didn't buy gold they wouldn't be able to afford those prices something something the price would come down

Um, it is to a degree theft... intellectual theft. How it effects us snowflake, is called economy. I understand you are not properly educated so I will explain for you. All players contribute to the economy by their efforts in game. This is mostly from farming items. Chinese gold farmers who you send your money to, camp the highest gold per hour areas to maximize their incomes thus making it over populated for most standard players (who like you do not have 18+ hours a day to farm) to be able to get said drops off their own efforts. This also has backlash because they now control the market. Let's also talk the annoyance of being invited to a channel every 30 minutes that is named www.g4wow or what the hell ever it is called that every gold farmer damn near spams. Or the constant whispers of them. I once had 10 invites within 30 seconds of each other. That clogs up chat logs for no reason at all, just because entitled little kids who don't want to do the work themselves. Also, what gives you the right to be rich in the game if you didn't do anything to earn it? Please go back to retail since you enjoy paying for your experience anyway or go to Kronos where you can pay to win as you so obviously need.

I mean, there will have to be something done. This is very similar in situation to why the Hunter DM North farm was changed, because of the significantly higher pop, meaning significantly more hunters, meaning more people farming meaning wayyy more gold than what would have been on a normal server being injected into the economy. So the staff did what needed to be done to try and balance the economy.

The Gold sellers and buyers market is significantly worse for the economy than the Hunter farm was, so I'd have to imagine they are trying to come up with a solution to mitigate this problem. Unfortunately, as stated in a previous post, there will never be a way to completely get rid of gold farmers, sellers, or buyers from any server with a high population.

Ban by HWID. Client-Server Software

Client starts software that generates unique HWID of particulat Computer and it hooks to wow.exe

Server software checks correct checksums of client software ( safety precautions because of reverse engineering ) and checks if there is HWID - lets client connect to server.

When gold seller/hacker/cheater gets ban hammer he need to change hardware component to get the new HWID because reinstalling system or changing IP/MAC/VPN doesn't work. And by coding choose most expensive hardware component for generating HWID, because vanilla wow doesn't need super-ultra computer try to do HWID generation more sophisticated so they cant change one component to get new HWID. Next step implementing PIN Generator to protect accounts, vanilla wow has this built in but they never used it.

 

If this isn't possible for WoW then there is no salvation.

 

PS. My account is already banned for unknown reasons to me, i didn't even play the game after transferring account :)
