Is Elysium PVP ACTUALLY running the Nost core?

Recommended Posts

I have only been playing for a couple days and done 2 WSG matches but I have already found a bunch of bugs that seem like really simple things.  Was Nostalrius actually this buggy?

LOS barriers don't work (trees, stumps, walls, ect..)

Hunters Mark doesn't actually reveal stealthed units

UI reload makes your pet uncontrollable

if you aggro a mob tagged to someone else, it will never de-agro

All of this combined with the recent post, it seems like Nostalrius is being controlled by Blizzard... i dont know whats really going on but its not good.

1. Not a bug

2. Yes it does, usually.

3. New bug.

4. That's a new bug

the mobs also chase you for a too long distance, which they were not on the nost core but on valkyrie.

there are many evidences that this is not the original nost core. there are plenty of new bugs (probably caused by copy pasting valkyries code into it?)

It never was the old nost core.  I'm convinced we've been playing Anathema 1.5 all along.  Relate that to current events and things start to make sense.

To be fair.  Stitches was horribly bugged on Nost.  There were always multiple Stitches running around while one camped Eliza's grave while killing Abercrombe  repeatedly.

So maybe they just disabled him right after they relaunched Nostalrius.

You have to understand what the true 'bottom of the barrel' private server experience is to realise that what Nost built and by extension what Elysium is trying to further are both far cries from how bad things could be. In the grand scheme of things, everything is great in terms of functionality and potential - or rather lack there of - for bugs, as time rolls on and the official bug reports roll in these minor issues should be squashed.

Even before this team was given Nost's code, they had the reputation of quickly addressing bugs.  There will always be a lot of work to be done and new bugs to deal with.

We just need to keep in mind that this is ultimately just a passion project.  So we should not feel entitled to demand any kind of accountability.

mm the bug that pets appear to be hostile initially also is something new isnt it. nost had that fixed iirc, its back. like 100 other bugs. i cannot believe all these appeared because they fixed a bunch of other bugs ~

1: Welcome to vanilla. Many other private servers do not care about implementing vanilla-like LOS, so a number of players are confused about it.

2: It does. Depending on server load and your latency, there can be a delay between rogue going into stealth and then being revealed by Hunter's Mark.

3: That is a new one. You really shouldn't use the command often in any case, as it can mess up your addons. Relogging is generally safer and a better method, albeit slightly slower.

4: Not true.
