Even if they have, they need to wait for OVH offices to open and to verify the payment as due to the chargebacks the acct was labeled as fraud or whatever. so i assume the offices will be open in the next few hours and possibly the servers back online after.

 

Just remain patient. shouldn't be much longer now!  :)

can not understand, why the Staff spreads the cost via donation over their community.

i mean rly, beeing depended to a few or (even worse) just one patron is stupid like fuq - like we see now.

I love this project and the work which is investet in this., but how the donation / payment was handelt ist stupid.

well they should have more thin enouth cash for the server for the fact  if every one that gave cash is true back around the time of page 4  on discord at the time hit what they needed thats if on discord every thing said was true..

That is not how donations work. If you think it is I have some tough news for you: You're wrong. Donations is NOT the same as paying for a service. Donations is a gamble, there's no guarantee of a return on your investment and this is simply a fact. Suck. It. Up.

Try a different currency. It wouldnt accept when I tried to donate 400 SEK (Swedish Krona) so I changed to 43 USD instead and it worked right away.

 

EDIT: For anyone not wanting to "risk an investment". Just donate a small sum. Many small donations of just 1-5$ will make a big difference in the end. Worst that can happen is you loose 5$. Big deal right? Skip that Big Mac for one day.

I think basically what you say is true.

If you donate you support the existing course of a project. So if I donate to Elysium and they shut down the server, then I would be pissed too.

But you cannot expect to get special treatment because you donated a specific high amount or any amount at all.

 

I don't know all the reasons behind this, but if the guild donated, then made claims and took their money back after they were declined, then shame on them.

Also it's not Elysiums fault if they calculated with donated money and then got in trouble after it was gone again.

 

At least we got some info about that case (I am honestly not very happy about how long it took to give us these infos).

 

PS: My guess is, that the server is really running on Amazon Echo, since seconds before the server went down, I asked a friend of mine ingame, if he thinks that the CIA can read what we are writing in chat.

Hey community,

More than one hundred  Chinese players (several guilds included) had donated some money for server,

Management said it's enough to support the sever for a while, thus the donation had been suspended temporarily to avoid some possible tricky-rumors or recklessirresponsible/unreasonable accusations.

Cool-down plz and wait the responses from OVH.

 

Clarification:  All donations and money are public (listed in google), all money will be paid for server running;  Management won't keep these money to avoid unnecessary troubles/risks.

Money's not the only factor, they're also limited to OVH's work hours and work speed.  I've seen games which don't host their own servers go down for a week without the issue being resolved simply because the hosting company's support was slow.  It doesn't help that this happened on a weekend.

It IS something they should have considered, though.  They're not entirely without fault.  You can see kickstarter games' funding drop slightly after the date has passed, because people inevitably pull their money back out of the pot.  Star Citizen tried to edit their terms to stop people from refunding after a certain date because backers who put in tens of thousands of dollars were threatening to take their money back.

I know this isn't a perfect example given the difference between the two systems, but this happens and any developer who uses other people to pay for their services ought to keep it in mind.  It's a bit irresponsible to cross your fingers and hope for the best, because people don't always act their best, as we've just seen with this $2000 donation being charged back.

When you donate to the server, you need to make sure your donation are given without refunding and not for sole purpose of screwing up the server.

When server get donation , they should be aware that donations are given by free will , not a pure sole of payment for them to be angry, they should instead say thank you .

The solution is Paypal and Terms of Use changing , so this kind of mistake doesn't happen twice!

P.S server should also give live report for the Financial usage via PayPal donations.

This will set things sorted and clear.

"large guild" (we know who). Paid for server in advance. Made claims about AQ progression and war efforts. Got denied ran away like a little child, after it didn't get what it wanted and canceled the advance payment.

Guess we can say thanks to these shitters.

Elysium/Anathema staff should have known better, especially after the Alex-Dilemma.

Take the money get server back up and make it transperent who donated and what you use for which expenses. no more payment in advance, even if it gets price reduction etc.

Get those servers up and it would be great if you could make some kind of transaction log to show to the community the amount of money you are working with just so we know when to pop in a few quid. Right now we found out too late!
