Anathema PvP — Unexpected Downtime: Update

Just got confirmation that they forwarded the technical issue with the renewal link to the tech.support team in France, so we're waiting for their reply now.

 

Dear Community,

Firstly, just wanted to thank everyone for being patient while we work to get Anathema back online. We wanted to give you a quick update on the situation as it stands.

So here is a little timeline of the recent events:

• Anathema went down around 11am GMT+1 on Monday morning
• We started our investigation
• We realized someone attempted to do a ~$2,000.00 chargeback on the Anathema server from the host directly
• We reached out to OVH immediately and raised a ticket
• We had to wait until Tuesday morning to receive word back from their specialists since it was locked down due to “fraud”

So that brings us up to about a few hours ago, around 5:45pm GMT+1, we have spoken with the host OVH and we are now awaiting their renewal link which will then provide us a payment link inside so that we can pay the 3 months in advance that we are now required to complete before the server will be unlocked and ready to be used.

Now, after this, as our main priority is the server itself, we are still working on the remaining three servers and are still continuing to work on development. Once the server is back up and running completely, we will then go in-depth and provide a bigger update.

In closing, we are not ignoring you and we so thank you for all the donations that were brought in since yesterday’s ordeal and we will update you once Anathema is back up and running.

We apologize for the delay in getting the server back up but we are working diligently with OVH to resolve the issue. At this time there is no further ETA that we can provide other than to wait for the renewal email.

We will post another update as soon as we have more information. Thank you again for your patience and your loyalty to our project.

Can you add a donation meter to the website? For transparency's sake? Like reddit's "daily gold goal". That way we can see where we stand for the month or year... if we're funded, over funded, etc.

Glad to hear the update, hopefully OVH will get the renewal link sorted out quickly!

(Also waiting on AQ40 PTR stuff and War Effort news once the servers are back stable again and the admins can resume normal activity!)

That was at the beginning, when we first realized what happened, that's when we looked at the invoices and saw the ~$2,000.00 charge back on the account.

Can we also get feedback on the character transfer queries that have been brought up?

Apart from this incident Anathema is down more often than any other realm by far, I would reroll to Elysium but I just dont have the time to level a new toon.

Can we collectively stop asking for a transfer to a less progressed realm? It affect's the economy, not to mention they're of different item patches.
