Lvl 1 bank toons getting deleted?

Hi,

so I have noticed that at one point my lvl 1 bank toon was deleted. I opened a forum past and asked why this was the case and got an ingame reply, that this can happen due to wiping lvl 1s in cities due to gold-selling. S/he then told me that this never happened to his/her lvl 2 char.

Lateron I logged back in and found the lvl 1 again. This was possibly a char selection screen but, which never happened before. On live and back in vanilla, for me.

What is your experience with this?

That scares me a bit, cause I have 0 g 0 s 0 c  on my bank toons, all 3 of them.  

Though all have 4x 16 slot bags + bank full of Tanking consumables.   1 alt for HP consumables, another for agility / str / protection scrolls, another for FAPs and resist potions.      

I would cry if that happened to me.

I do have heard that someone got banned because of mass mails he sent to his bank toons. But I think he had it back after an appeal.

that's not even banning, but deleting characters in legit accounts with lvl 60 mains. It still doesnt make any sense.

Spend a few hours leveling them moderately? Why take the risk? Goldsellers are only going to become a bigger problem the longer you hold out. The novelty of Lv1 isn't worth much

I ran them to IF, many deaths in first cave.  Wasn't about novelty.

level them to lvl 10 or so, just in case :P... last night i was on my alt bank and suddenly someone spawned an Abyssal who killed every low lvl char in orgrimmar with an AoE of 30dmg/sec

Walk outside ironforge, kill some wolves, ding to lvl 2, go back to IF.

wouldnt leveling to level 3-4 be way faster then corpserunning?

You do know the stuff outside IF is level 8+.   I would have to death run back to were I am able to gy rez at the correct gy level up a few times, then go back.

Just don't delete toons the he'll of it.  Especially with 500-800g worth of consumables each.

I like how everyone's solution to this is to level the dude to 2 (or higher).  It's not the point at all. 

Toons shouldn't just be deleted.

They aren't "just deleted." When an account is banned, the account remains in place as-is so that if it is ever appealed successfully the account can be returned as it was when the ban was delivered. The appeals process exists because we are all only human and imperfect, so if something were caught in the net it can be extracted out.

I'm not sure who would have told you that, but they were incorrect. If the person who told you this was not staff then they would not know how this was handled. Additionally, just because a bug doesn't occur on live or back in vanilla doesn't mean that our attempted emulation of the processes, code, and systems back then won't be subject to issues like this.

Funniest part is that all the gold selling bots are not even lvl 1 chars. Most of them are lvled (10+, 20+, etc.) chars on hacked accounts xD
(Those used to spam streak ppl I mean, dunno for the ones sending arrows and shit in mailboxes)

There is absolutely no policy of deleting characters, even if they are level 1. I'm not aware of any reports of bank characters suddenly going missing.

As Slicy said, characters used for gold spamming aren't level 1 since they can't whisper or use the public chat channels.
