Xykaru 1 Report post Posted December 4, 2016 You may only multibox with 2 characters. One of them must be in a main city at ALL times.

Sneatz 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2016 "VII. Multiboxing Multiboxing refers to playing multiple characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple machines to run the Game or by running multiple instances of the Game. The only exception is that you may have up to two characters from the same faction in-game simultaneously, while at least one character is in a capital city." https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=21966

Pmizz 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2016 Thanks for the link guess ill have to go back to legion. It is fun but issue is server wouldn't work if they allowed it. 12k x 5 = 60k And even if 10% of real people did it would still be like 22k, with 1/5 being bots. Just a great decison to disallow it. And pretty obvious was just a money grab from Bli$$
Destron 2 Report post Posted December 5, 2016 So I can have a mule logged in in Ironforge while playing my mage in Un'Goro? Just looking for some clarification.
Kazuma 11 Report post Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) Correct. Multiboxing is considered playing multiple characters at the same time by 1 player (characters inside main capital excluded) You wont be banned right away as some people have brothers/sisters (same IP) and you will be ported by a GM to proof each character has a unique player. nvnz 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2016 Those are the old elysium rules. They're likely to implement the original nostalrius rules with their further update about servers later in the week. You couldn't multibox or dual log behind the one keyboard this included leaving one character in the main city for AH/bank purposes. The only exception was for trading/professions between accounts, as long as you were in the same city as both accounts. It was allowed.
DM1234 10 Report post Posted December 5, 2016 Why would anyone want multiboxing? I don't think it's a good idea on realms already overcrowded. But it is fun to do. On Feenix I did Strat, Schol, BRD, Dire Maul, Lbrs, and also farmed to exalted in ZG. It's nice to try but I wouldn't do it again.

Just a great decison to disallow it. And pretty obvious was just a money grab from Bli$$ Why do people always assume that literally every single person on the server will multibox 5 characters? That and, even on retail, multiboxing was extremely rare, so I'm not sure why you're decrying Blizzard for "money grabs", as if Blizzard was actively advertising the ability to multibox. They didn't encourage it. They just didn't forbid it either. I'd say less than 0.1% of the playerbase multiboxed. Why would anyone want multiboxing? On a PvP server, you can have your level 60 main /follow your alt so that you don't get ganked while leveling. Or use your 60 main to carry your alt through instances for quests/gear or whatever. Drain 19 Report post Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) On Nost, boxing was allowed as long as you didn't use several in combat at once. I boxxed all the time for enchants, water, portals, auction house searching, but all this фекал is mainly just city duties. They didn't care about any of this. There's not much need to box out in the world though, because you can just log out, switch to your 60, then log right back in, if someone is bothering you. This is possible with 1 account, which isn't boxing. Boxing isn't required to do this. Just log out, then log right back in. If they're not on the same account, then keep the 60 logged out whenever your alt is alive, then log him in when your alt is dead. It'll be practically the same thing. They won't both be there at the same time. Then log the 60 out, and revive on the alt. Dealing with annoying players is the main reason to pocket a 60, and you don't need to box 2 in combat at a time for it. I've seen some players use a 60 from the opposite faction to clear out his quest area from competitors on his own side, which you normally cannot attack. Basically, Nost prohibited you from using 2 at the same time in combat, which is mainly done to cheese leveling. A person will tag mobs on his alt, then use his 60 to instant kill them. When ungrouped, the alt will take 100% XP from doing this, without any effort to fight them. A Hunter is probably best for this, as the pet will happily kill everything for you on aggressive mode, even while its owner is AFK on follow mode. You also get the speed buff for traveling, which is useful on a scrub that has no mount. But they prohibited all of this, and would ban you for it. One thing players needed to beaten into their skulls was that a program or silly macros are not required to box. Boxing is ANY use of multiple clients at once, even if you just alt tab them. They kept wanting to split hairs with the word "simultaneous", which isn't referring to your control, but the fact that you have several clients running at once. Even if the other one is sitting idle at the auction house, you're boxing a second character. So it is not a question of "is multi boxing allowed", it's a question of, "what activities with multi boxing is allowed". ironskillet2 2 Report post Posted December 5, 2016 i cant even begin to remember how many people i would see multiboxing in STV. I leveled a lot of characters on nost and reported at least over a dozen accounts for multiboxing. I have low tolerance for rule breaking on the servers I play on.
