Anathema PvP — PvP Itemization Update

Greetings,

In regards to recent events on Anathema with the 1.9 patch, the gear was unintentionally reverted to a pre buffed state on R12/13. When we build the world, it is layered with 1.12.1 initially and then it has to be subsequently “downgraded” to give us the content patch of 1.9 for example.

Many of you know that this buffed state was put into place by Nostalrius prior to them shutting down and we did make a statement, saying that the PvP gear would not be touched on Anathema due to the length of time that the gear was made available to everyone who chose to put in the effort to grind to R12/13.

We understand the efforts of all the dedicated PvP’ers out there and we are actively listening to our community, we want you to know that we will revert the gear on Anathema PvP, because as of now it would be far too late to undo what was already in place. Had we removed it at the start of the relaunch, that would have been a different story.

Further note, Darrowshire, Elysium and Zeth’Kur will have their R12/13 gear put to the proper stats of their pre-buffed state as that was not implemented by Nostalrius prior to relaunch.

Elysium staff would like to note, that C’Thun got a little upset and stole all your gear. The items will be reverted tomorrow back to their previous state. We do want to mention that we are sorry to all the dedicated PvP’ers out there and we wish you good luck in your future battles.

We love you. Thank you for thinking about the motivations of Rank 13's and the number of hours they had to put in. I am not Rank 13... and don't even think I can put in those amount of hours (and I'm retired and don't work) ... but I still believed it an injustice to those individuals and did my best in every instance to weigh in on their behalf; especially with lower ranking admins saying it would not be reverted on both Discord and Forums.

These guys sold their souls, and their health for that gear. Making it worse than Rank 10 gear was a nausea-inducing gut-punch for the 40 - 80 hours that some of those guys put in for over a month and a half in some cases. It wasn't just the grind that got them there, often times it was stressful politics week after week with people you despise or who you knew were plotting to betray you.

A level of stress the R10 people barely understand as there's virtually no competition for Bracket 3, 4 or lower positions, and I only understand because I tried it in retail, and helped a half-dozen of my friends do it there.

PS: What about the other part of the final update on the pvp gear ? Did you mean 2 weeks after 1.9 is added or 2 weeks after AQ gates open (this basically postpones the update to few months from now on I assume) ?

The Nost devs made a conscious decision to make Thunderfury in its 1.12 buffed state just like the R12/R13 gear and that was how it was through all of Nost and for the first 3 months of Anathema. As of Sunday it was reverted to being MH only and 15% proc rate (from 25%)

 

I know several rogues who put work into getting it who now no longer can utilize it optimally because of the mainhand requirement. This is another item where decisions were made based on the stats of the item that were expected not to change. I hope you'll consider this to be in the same vein as the R12/R13 gear and revert it back to how it's always been on Nost/Anathema. Thanks for everything by the way. I know y'all don't hear that enough.

I agree. We also have a rogue with 1 binding - Now its probably wasted on him, as MH is really bad for rogue.
