Auto-completion is a super bad custom idea. It just feels like you're gonna keep some numbers super high but say "all is well" since you add auto-completion and it remains as delayed as possible ??

Because there is an issue of trust here between the developers and the players. People invest a significant amount of time and energy into playing on this server so it is important that they feel like it is worth it.

The way this event has been handled has really left a sour taste in my mouth, and changed the War Effort from being a fun server-wide event into a huge drama fest.

Yea its sad the people playing or not playing could mess so much with the war effort, i really hope us on the other servers will have a real event not effected by people bitching and morning non stop 24/7

Care to explain how did players mess with WE? Raptor steak first day turnin 30k 2% next 3 weeks  stillonly on 8% mark. You think people still have thst 92% in banks on active accounts? Because you know those numbers were based on actual mats and not imaginary bullshit to postpone....

Actual words were uf turned in WE would be done first day.

It was bad estimate that took them 3 weeks to react and who knows whats the result even now

People that stopped playing or just choose to not help with the effort because "unreachable, to much effort" magnified the issue. If they on top of that have to focus on drama players create such as players charge backing donations then yea it will take extra time to get it fixed.

They are supplying us with this service. A service which back in retail cost a monthly fee, took about 2-3 months to get anything major changed and had server down time so often that getting varying amount of compensation (in the form of extra days as sub) each month was the norm.

If blizz was supplying this service now it would still be subscription based and it would take way longer to get anything changed though there would probably be more server stability. So yea I think they are doing a good job. Can it be better, everything can be improved but I don't think its for lack of trying.

We had warned countless times about the negative consequences of opening new servers, having an unrealistic war effort scaling, etc BEFOREHAND.

If you think players are the roots of the WE issues, you're either mistaken, not playing on the server or just blind/in denial.

Every raiding guild was willing to participate and invest time for the War Effort. The numbers were just made without any intention of WE being completable in a reasonable time-frame. Even with a 12K pop it wouldn't be possible. Legit mistake/ignorance/taking us for fools when you do +2200% on certain materials which are scarce and way more valuable (the mass won't turn in what they can sell for 4-5g / stack), regardless of how much of these were stock piled beforehand.

Adding a game event we have extensive, detailed and complete information about how it was during retail and customizing it shamelessly to the point where entire raiding guilds leave the project altogether is clearly not "doing a good job", no.

in conclusio you state NOPE left because they restricted the amount of players who could achieve the scarab? And added a deadline untill when they had to finish the quest, which was an excellent idea because:

"Even once the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj are open, people may wish to complete part of the scepter questline for the epic rewards. This quest-line can be completed after the initial war has ended and the gates are open, and all rewards but the final mount (which can only be received during the 10-hour war event) are accessible. Here's a list of the quests that give rewards."

So these guilds would have let us wait to finish all their quest untill they all are at the turning in-point for X-amount of mounts. We would not have had AQ for 6 MONTHS rofl. With their stockpiled materials (which are here) they could have controlled the time when war efforts are finished and had enough time for the questline etc. etc. it is very easy to see this plan unfold. But hey not my problem :D

Sorry this is a very weak reasoning. But it is your oppinion and I respect it.

It has nothing to do with just 1 guild that ppl like to bash on/make drama out of for literally no reason or how the staff chose to design Scepter chain/gates opening. You are missing the entire point. Almost nobody cares about the scepter/mount : it's a meme for nerds with too much time at their hands.

Player base is a huge mass of raiding guilds which mainly want to experience the raid itself and all the content coming with the patch. Gating it with unrealistically scaled materials numbers was the actual bummer.

Ppl wanted to participate and experience the content, including a legit WE. In case you were still clueless about it, around 4-5 guilds just on ally side (no idea for horde side) simply disbanded and/or had to merge with others due to too many players going inactive / losing any kind of interest into the project after WE numbers were announced and 1 week in without a word about it. Design choices about the gates opening and scepter chain have nothing to do with the mass of players (we're talking 95% of the player base here) who realized they can't even take part into WE event since it was very poorly tailored and made impossible.

Ask around to your guild mates and friends how many of them would have took part, farmed and contributed by investing time/gold into WE if it was to be completed within 1-2 months instead of 6, 9 or even more for some materials with a re-spawn time gating.

If they just do some kind of token nerf and it's still unrealistic to finish then they're going to have a real shit storm. Hopefully they've learned from this mess and will make it completable within a week or two since we're passed week 3 now

We will see how the numbers changed tomorrow. Let's hope for the sake of the server that they're achievable within a reasonable timeframe.

It might have been a good idea to actually post them for player feedback before applying them to the server.

Sorry but you have no idea how this whole event works. WE have nothing to do with scarab mount scepter quest. After WE are finished you get questchain opened and reputation grind to get neutral this all happens AFTER war efforts. No single guild can prolong opening since first one to finish quest chain amd get rep gets the gong quest. Aftet than anyone who has done the same has 10 hours to get also mount. If you dont get it in 10 hours you get only epic item of choice. You can do the quest chain months after opening of aq. Only custom change was instead of infinite ammount of people within 10 hours of first one only first 5 would get scarab mount. Not a big deal

I will not argue with you friend. English is not my native language and I might not be able to phrase what I mean correctly. You have to think a little buit outside the box and I know it is hard to do so, if you do not see it and I can not "show" it to you.

Anyways, you are right the way you see it :)
