Currently there's not that much to do in PvE until BWL/ZG is added. A few of us from the guild <Nidvardir> got bored, and decided to see how quick we could run Stratholme Undead. In an attempt to do some community building, we now officially challenge you to beat our timer which was 20 minutes from the time the 45 min timer started and until Rivendare lay dead.

We are hoping somebody will take us up on the challenge, and do even better than we did.

I dont think I have ever put someone on ignore in the 12 years of me playing wow... on the forums or in-game. But Wrathran is coming really close. lol

@Oakenlix Speedruns suck the epic feeling out of the game. The whole speedrun mentality is terrible and I hate it. It's like a plague that needs to be purged.

Don't do it if you don't like it, but there's no reason why someone else doing speedruns would be bad for anyone.

It's the mentality and how it spreads and affects me personally. On this server I experienced something I didn't experience on Nostalrius, some people rushing through dungeons and skipping quests and bosses that someone in the team needs. I just leveled a warlock and I remember in ZF when groups didn't do the grave boss that basically every healer and cast "need", "didn't have time", and even jumping and skipping the pyramide event, even when someone had 2 quests + needed loot. I also saw this in BRD and ST where groups would just ignore players request to do a quest boss or the statue in ST. This mentality is the worst thing that can happen to a vanilla server in my opinion. This was on my warlock in pugs I experience this so now when I am leveling a druid and often tank I decided to never skip a quest or boss someone need.

People can do whatever they want. If they want to do speedruns or whatever they are free to do so. They made a public post though in a public forum where people post comments and opinions. I can and will make a comment about this if I want to. If this offend and trigger some people who want to put me on ignore as a safespace from my horrible opinions and sarcastic posts, so be it.

I hate the idea with speedruns and challenging others to do the same sucks in my opinion.

In the end this is not a huge deal. I just saw a post with a video and message I didn't like and made a negative sarcastic reply about it because I wanted my opinion to be heard and point out that speedruns is one of the things that made retail turn into shit compared to vanilla. It's my opinion, nothing more, on a public forum and I like sarcasm.

A lot of games, like Donkey Kong Country or Super Mario Brios, are made with speedrunning in mind.

Now I'm not saying all pugs should speedrun (they shouldnt) but its fun to do in an organised group.

thats not a problem of speedruns. its ppl beeing egocentric assholes. i doubt there is a connection.

personally i dont like speedruns, never did. i hated doing zul aman speedruns, and i still hated them when we had to repeat it in the wotlk version of naxx. cant be bothered with that epeen shit.

 

personally i expirienced what you discribed when i needed father flame shoulders (priest t0). some ppl cried about the extra 5mins it took (it really is just killing some waves of dragonkins).

the funny part is, sometimes those ppl where rogues which got the chestpiece from there afterwards.

Why dont you save yourself the time and ask before hand... are we skipping anything because I need "enter need here". If they say nah we're skipping look for another groups. 

I need tinker in mara and I see "princess runs" I always ask if they are willing to do tinker too. if they say yes, I join group, if they say no. I wish them good luck and move on.

if ppl are searching for an instance like zf id never assume they want to skip certain bosses. but thats just me.

Well, I never experience that neither till here on Elysium. People do in fact skip bosses and lets not start with the amount of groups that rez stuff. 

I've ran with people that want to skip the witch doctor 90% of the time.

During my Rep farming for Agent Dawn I spam ran this place while gearing people, eventually we would just do guild mount runs - never saw one. 

I found mages slowed me down after a few pulls they'd need to stop. 

 

My preferred setup was - Driud healer, Warlock, Fury Warrior, Rogue, Prot Warrior - myself.

The mana rejen of the druid being able to keep the warlocks mana full by pairing up life tap, fury warrior using WW + a cleave can help the warlock a lot on 3-4+ mob pulls, rogue focus fire and blade fury on CD.   

Warlock can keep paranoia up.

Without using world buffs, or any consumables other than are in party buffs we could get the instance cleared with 22ish minutes on the clock left so a 23 min run - was our fastest.  Normally my runs with this group comp we'd have around 17 min+ remaining.
