Elysium vs. Anathema?

title says it all. what server should I play on? I am already level 10 as a rogue on anathema but I am new to vanilla wow and didn't realize that anathema is basically fully progressed. I am a casual gamer now and wont be rushing to 60 and will probably only get in a few pug raids as I work full time/married/kid. Def want a legit experience and will be focusing on pvp. IDK what to do or if it will even make a big difference. Does anathema being to AQ mean that the server only has so much time left in it or how do private servers work?

i dont think it will really matter what you pick. anathema has the pro that is progressed so you will have a better chance for seening more content fast :)

While Anathema still has a year and a half before its done, if pvp and 5 mans are your focus then honestly I'd recommend Elysium and that's coming from an Anathema player. Anathema has a ton of gear built up over the past 2 years and you will be hard pressed to compete as a casual new player. While Elysium will also have some geared players, the disparity wont be nearly as great.

Roll horde on Anathema, go to Tarren Mill and level. Ill come by with my Alliance Rogue and keep a close eye on you from all those ganker's =p

You know this is the state of Elysium too right? Bunch of people already hit R14 and have MC bis.

AQ just came out dummy. Players have 2-3 pieces of AQ gear already AT BEST.

Anyway I'm pretty sure that R14 players on Elysium are already 1shotting new players. So what? You've always had to deal with this when playing WoW and for the most part we have always overcame this by getting ourselves geared.

This argument for not playing on a specific server is stupid. There was never a time in WoW where you wouldn't get absolutely destroyed by another player.

Well still better than AQ geared people bud.Plus R14 gear before the patch is absolute garbage. Go google 2004 wayback machine Grand Marshal gear and look at its stats then report to me.by the time BWL comes out it will get severely buffed(and perhaps OP) but right now it is complete garbage and blues shut it down

See my previous post. Your argument is so stupid. Are you going to quit Elysium when AQ is released because AQ gear is too overpowered? If you don't you're a hypocrite. Stop discouraging people from playing on our server with your stupid arguments. You're not helping anyone.

Using /who, I saw there is a lot less people in the leveling zones on anathema. If you like to meet people and opponents all the time while leveling, elysium is probably better. It doesn't feel overcrowded, there is a ganking problem in the form that if you like pvp and you are alliance, many time if you try to have a fight with a horde they will gang up on you or call a high level who will put an end to the pvp by killing you. But if you don't attack, they often would leave you alone.

So I mean if you like the nice wild pvp it can be a bit hard to get it going nicely on elysium because of this, but a lot of action going on though.

You don't get a fair shake on Anathema as a new player, it's just a fact. You won't have any hope of getting into a decent guild unless you roll an in-demand class.

On Anathema you dont need to be a hardcore raider to get geared. Join pugs at your own pace. Everything from aq20 to bwl is pugged.

Anathema PvP: Old Nostalrius bulls which are loyal to their server for over two years, always willing to reach out a helping hand to new players who want to experience the last two raid tiers for once.

Having a way to gear in mc/bwl pugs on Anathema and having option to gear up in AQ40 gives you a fair chance to close the gear gap against r14 people. On Elysium on the other hand MC gear quality is so far below rank gear that you'll be getting destroyed by r14 people without a doubt without any way to close the gear gap other than ranking yourself or sticking to pve only mode before bwl comes out.

This simply aint true. Good and dedicated players will always find a guild even if playing a saturated class/role.

^This. Elysium is full och fresh-hype-cucks straight from Legion with the attention span of 5 year olds and they will jump ship as soon as another server opens elsewhere.

Unless you are starting a guild or wanting to be in a guild starting from scratch, you are simply fucked because 90% of the decent healers and caster dps are already raiding BwL/AQ40. Sure Anathema is great for in-demand roles wanting a carry in BwL, but not for those that want to start from square one.
