pvp in world or no pvp as it is

Hello all

this might sound a bit of a wine but can someone tell me who thought this type of honor system in world pvp is a good thing?

for the last three weeks all that has happened is , if your a high level grinder (45 and up), your becoming honor food for the level 60 players who invariably spend most evenings/days farming us for their pvp rewards. That isn't pvp. That's just crap.

I cannot see the "fun" OR " pvp" in targeting a player 10-12 levels below you. My last stint on wow was living in the battlegrounds and i didn't mind at all getting killed in there as it was team v team or one on one/ two on one sometimes. Alot of the times the best team won.My toons defended the horde with honor!!

I understand that people play games for different reasons.But this is madness. Tonight i spent an hour in plague lands - ganked 9 times by roasming 60 chars in groups of 2/3/4/5, and in ungoro i cant even rezz for 3 minutes without some alliance weener tapping me straight away. As a 50 plus level player i cant level in other areas as i am sure all areas are affected like this- as are all 45 plus leveling chars - they know where we will be because of the levels they farm.

I have an idea! why don't the developers turn gankers into flapping chickens (in the world) if they kill a toon thats more than 4/5 levels below them? maybe reduce their stats to the same as sickness rezz for 15 minutes so we can turn the tables on these no lifers? PVP properly or not at all !!

It's the same for both factions. Be glad you are horde, since you are far more population than alliance.

As alliance, you are ganked on every flight path, ships, quest hubs, even in some inns. It's like a travel fee.

Things are looking pretty hectic at the moment, I will give you that. On a bright side, patch 1.5 is coming out in just a few days and with the battlegrounds out there situation should definetly become much better for those who want to lvl/grind/farm/quest etc.

sure, this is technically just how it was back in vanilla, but 35 days with honor system and without bgs was maybe a litte too long for a game most players here know very well. also, the whole 180g mount thing just fucked it up and made the whole situation far worse, ignore it all you want.

Nobody is ignoring you or dismissing your concerns. They are completely valid.

With trying our best to be as close to the original game it is a bit of a double edged sword. It comes with all of the good and the bad.

The good news is, on Saturday we will rolling out 1.5 giving access to the battlegrounds which should really help the WPVP.

As annoying as it is, I don't mind it.  Guess what, THAT'S WAR!!!  I mean, it is actually in the name: World of WARcraft.  Yes it's annoying and frustrating as hell, but I wouldn't want it any different as then it becomes more kiddy and noob-friendly.  Another positive side-effect is it instills the pure hate you should have for the other faction (as is also the case in war).  I got ganked so many times from 30-55, but now that I'm 60 guess what, I'm ganking twice as much.  It's KOS no matter who it is.  That's WAR baby!  For the Alliance!

I was hoping that the situation improves with the introduction of BGs and took a 2 week break, but spending one evening in stranglethorn is just like it was before.

Nothing changed, people still run around in groups just for the sake of camping quest npc so people can't get it done.

I don't see how any of this is enjoyable, it's just boring to constantly corpse-run. I don't blame the devs, but the wpvp clowns nobody wants to have around

 

Edit: I would like to know if there are any plans in the near future for a PvE realm, since this is unplayable

Edit2: For the last 30 minutes I have been trying to kill a single mob in southern stranglethorn and got ganked by 3 different groups after respawning and attacking my first mob. People patrol on mounts just to shit on people

Hi, the problem can be solved with the aid of guildmembers helping you, logging out, changing quest area or relax in an inn. 

Yes getting ganked by much higher level people is annoying but still temporary! 
Write down their names.. take revenge when you hit 60
Revenge is sweet!

I made a forum account just to applaud the sincerity and quality of this response. Now that (most) BGs are live, I've been experiencing more co-operation and less ganking, great experience overall.

Earlier today we enabled pre-mades to function and queue together. We are closely monitoring this to see how it affects the community.

well they are not being placed in the same Q  its premade vs pugs. all the time. rank 6- vs rank 10+. would actually be epic if it was rank 10+ premades fighting one another, but right now is just bullshit and fucks up everyone who tries to rank up and its not in on the premade ''stack honor to RP cap'' cartel. right now at 10:21 server time there are only two games going on. one is the alliance premade stomping the horde pug, and the other is the horde premade stomping the alliance pug. horrible experience. even worse than being ganked 24/7 by 60s in 50s zones.

This is correct, the queue is open so they could get other pre-mades or they could get pugs. We are monitoring this and may move all pre-mades to their own queue so they only get other pre-made teams. I appreciate the feedback and I will pass it along to the team as we continue to do our best to tweak the system to work as best we can.

Actually the balance is mostly chance. It is not a stacked game and there is plenty of stressed players on both sides.

well, thanks for noticing it. every single game that involves team play game have their own system to prevent premades vs pugs, and now with full 10 man premades is literally cancer to play. so i really do hope you guys fix this asap.

Waiting 1 to 3 hours for queue pop and getting slaughtered because your side is outnumbered and/or outclassed by a pre-made is the opposite of fun. Frustration waiting for BGs, plus frustration in BGs means we go back to WPVP to the point no one is leveling and everybody is having a bad day.

Welcome to vanilla PvP? When I was playing vanilla we had a grenade group who got so bored with winning so easy that we started pvping in cloak,boots,belts and weapons only.. we were still 5 capping the alliance in AB. We got reported for taunting and they banned us all for 24 hours. But the imbalance of teams and q times was always there.

the problem is when there are more than 1 premade queue'ing on each side BUT they somehow never face each other.... the opportunity of putting premade vs premade is there, but apperentely they dont want to. they wanna favor the higher rankers or whatever because they are most of the time vs pugs.
