Which server do you think will have the biggest population?

Recommended Posts

I love vanilla and a big reason why I'm excited about this project is what I hope is going to be a big population. I miss seeing hundreds of people congregating in Ironforge between the bank and AH and out in the world questing. I'd like to be on the highest pop server and I know this is all speculation at this point but what do you think? It seems to me like there's a lot of excitement about the fresh server but I'm worried that the Nost servers rolling out first will eat some of the player base.

The nost servers will definitely grab some of the playerbase because of the delay of elysium by a month or possibly more depending on if russian holidays get in the way.  I am expecting fresh server to have the largest population overall because of both new players in general but also because lots of people are interested in the vanilla-launch like experience and the experience of playing on a brand new, untouched server.  There are many, many reasons I could list why people would roll on fresh but that's another topic.

Roll a character on nost pvp, enjoy your time there and then depending on your tastes stay there or roll on fresh pvp later.

The NOST servers rolled at first because they want to prioritze that player base. However, the second reason and possibly even more important.. they didn't want to lose too many NOS players to the Fresh Realm.

You have nothing to worry about. The Fresh Realm will be very populated. Be patient .. and your patience shall be rewarded. :)

I mean it all depends when you're talking about.

I would be shocked if Elysium PvP doesn't take over as the high pop server in time.

That's what I think too. I'm going to play on the Nost server in the beginning because I need my crack but once the fresh server comes out, I'm going to go play over there.

Hello.
Once the server is live I'm going to continue leveling my level 45 hunter to 60 as I intended before Blizzard ruined my life.

That's just enough time until Elysium puts out the fresh server which I'm 100% hyped for.
I want to level at the same time with everybody else, that's what I think most people are waiting for

and I will still have a 60 to enjoy on the nostalrius server if the new fresh server isn't what i thought it would be.

They are going to cap each server so pop distributes evenly..

That's an interesting idea and statement.  Makes me wonder how many people will roll on a server they don't wish to play on simply to get on a server.

My money is on the fresh server. I think PVE will be second and Nost PvP will have the lowest - after all servers are released that is.

My advice is to not sweat it. I think that the most important thing pertaining to this discussion is that even if things get completely uneven and one or the other server becomes unsatisfactory to play in because of issues that low population creates, then the developers will perform a merge, or open cross-server migration. It is not very hard to balance population across two or three servers, and frankly low population has mostly not been an issue in quality Vanilla projects.

I really hope they cap them at a reasonable level so Populations do distribute across all three. :)

Elysium PvP > Nostalrius PvP > Nostalrius PvE, but If I were you, I'd make a strawpoll just to be sure! ;)

Ke ke ke!

The biggest pop will be Nost pvp due to the fact old people are returning and its the only pvp option until fresh comes.  The server pop question is a moot point since the Devs have made it clear no server will be dead and other alive.  If one has 50k on it and another has 5k after some time the devs will merge them all.

I think first months Fresh realm will be way most populated. But in some time Fresh will stop being "fresh" and new people will join Nostalrius realm because it is a bit legendary. So I vote for Nost PvP for long-term perspective.

I also think that a lot of people who declare themselves very eager to level from 1-60 all over again (a significant part-to-be of Elysium's population) will quit when they realise what this actually means and how much time it takes. My guess is that Elysium will be ahead in absolute numbers, but not that much, and only because of players that had missed the original Nostalrius train.

Elysium PvP - Nost PvE - Nost PvP in a long term perspective imo. Nost PvP will stay up from the massive amounts of old school players but I don't see to many new players joining it once fresh realm is released.

Lol this straw poll crap again.

To all the new people, what ever server you chose: look to your left, look to right, those people will not make it to level 40. Now look ahead, look behind. Those people will not make it to level 60.
